If you’ve always wanted your very own “Under the Tuscan Sun” experience, but thought you couldn’t afford it, listen up. A British couple is raffling off their beautiful home in the Italian countryside. During quarantine in England, Jon and Annmarie Nurse came up with the unique way to get rid of their vacation home in Garfagnana, a mountainous region in Tuscany that’s a two-hour car ride from Florence.
“There was a lot of news about people struggling and we just thought, ‘You know what, why don’t we do something where we can make a bit of a difference?’ and the one thing we had was property,” Jon explains. So they came up with the idea for the raffle and now people from all over the world can buy a ticket for just $32 for their chance to win the four-bedroom, three-bathroom home with amazing views and a sparkling private pool.
Not only will the lucky winner get the home, which is worth $517-thousand, the couple is also planning to cover all transfer taxes and legal fees. And this place is already renovated, the Nurses have spent the past eight years fixing it up and adding details, plus it comes fully furnished. The raffle is open until January 29th, 2021, but they’re not accepting entries after 20-thousand tickets have been sold so everyone has a better chance of actually winning.
