Celebrities Publicly Defend Ellen

By News Aug 5, 2020 | 8:22 AM

As we told you previously, Ellen DeGeneres has been taking major fire amid accusations that her daytime talk show was a toxic work environment. While a few celebs have come out to agree the mess is on Ellen, earlier this week, wife Portia de Rossi asked folks to share their support. Now, several stars are doing just that.

“I know I can’t speak for anyone else’s experience besides my own, but I want to acknowledge that I have only ever had positive takeaways from my time with Ellen and on the @theellenshow to the world through her platform for decades,” Katy Perry writes via Twitter. “Sending you love and a hug, friend @TheEllenShow.”

  • And Katy isn’t the only one. Both DJ Samantha Ronson and Kevin Hart have also come to Ellen’s defense. It should be noted that when Kevin was going through his Oscar debacle, Ellen gave him a platform to apologize. “She has treated my family and my team with love and respect from day 1,” Hart said in part. “The internet has become a crazy world of negativity….we are falling in love with peoples down fall.”Also in Ellen’s corner? Her brother, Vance DeGeneres. Taking to Twitter himself, he calls his sister a “bright light in a dark world.” “If you think Ellen would knowingly allow bullying or racism on her show, you don’t know my sister,” Vance writes. “She’s one of the kindest, most generous people you’ll ever meet. And one of the funniest.”
